Public Transport in Jatiasih, Bekasi

Jatiasih is one of districts in Bekasi City. As a home to many people, this area is naturally densely populated. That makes public transport in Jatiasih very important.

Not only home to its citizens, Jatiasih is also one of the commercial and transit areas of Bekasi, aside from the downtown of Bekasi, Pondok Gede, and Jatisampurna. There are many commercial buildings, starting with home businesses, small food shops, cargo services, large international restaurant chains, clothing stores, a gas station, and even stops for intercity buses.

Jatiasih (specifically Komsen) is also a transit area for many people living in Jatiasih or in the surrounding areas, such as Bojong Kulur, Pondok Gede, Cikunir, and many more. There are many buses (large buses or micro buses, a.k.a. angkot) that stop here.

Here are the lists of public transport routes in Jatiasih. Hope the lists will help you in case you are travelling to Jatiasih or lost in Jatiasih.

Angkot (micro bus)

Angkot (abbreviation of Angkutan Kota, literally city transport) is a popular transport option in most areas of Indonesia. The closest terms in English are probably “microbus” or “share taxi”. An angkot fleet may have a maximum capacity of 10 to 12 passengers. Legally, standing passengers are not allowed (and impossible) inside angkot. However, on peak hours, some passengers decided to stand at the entrance.

Other terms in various languages of Indonesia:

  • Mikrolet in various areas.
  • Angdes or Angkudes (Angkutan Desa, literally villages or rural transport) in villages, rural areas, or other less denser areas.
  • Pete-pete (Makassarese) in Makassar
  • Sudako (Medan Malay) in Medan, only for rear-entrance angkot.
  • MikroTrans, angkot in Jakarta, administered by TransJakarta.
  • JakLingko, a misconception/wrong name of MikroTrans.

KOASI is the main operator of angkots in Bekasi. All cars administered by KOASI have a red, red orange, or vermilion color. Other colors may be included on angkots’ car, e.g. yellow (on the middle-up body of K-02B angkot, while the bottom side is still red).

Due to a lack of maintenance, the fleet’s color may be covered with rust or dent.

Limited/inactive angkot routes

K-02A, currently very limited or even inactive routes.

K-02A: Bumi Mutiara – Pondok Gede

Status: Very limited/Inactive

K-02A bumi mutiara komsen pondok gede

Stops: Bumi Mutiara – Pasar Pocong (Ps. Bojong Kulur) – Villa Nusa Indah – Pondok Gede Permai – Ps. Rebo (Jatiasih) – Komsen – Jatimekar – Jatikramat – Jatimakmur – Pondok Gede

Formerly, K-02A connected Bumi Mutiara (a residential zone in Bojong Kulur, Bogor Regency) to Pondok Gede. This was a favorite public transport route in Jatiasih for Jakarta office workers because this route passes through many residential zones, such as Villa Nusa Indah, Pondok Gede Permai, etc., and also passes through Jatiasih transit area.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the route shrank to half of the original (serving only Bumi Mutiara to Komsen Jatiasih) due to low number of passengers. People choose not to use angkot for many reasons, probably triggered by the ease of buying a motorized vehicle, the uncomfortable angkot interior, and the fact that most angkot drivers won’t finish the route during midday.

It is currently inactive or extremely limited.
